Weight & Warmth
Project type
Furniture
This furniture collection explores the quiet tension between mass and softness, permanence and warmth—where structure becomes expression, and material becomes memory.
At its core, the collection is defined by the dialogue between solid concrete and gently curved wood. The concrete elements act as grounding anchors—monolithic, weighty, and architectural in presence. Their rough, porous surfaces reveal the honesty of casting and time, evoking the feeling of built form rather than decorative furniture. These bases recall fragments of architecture, reduced to their essential geometry and stripped of ornament.
In contrast, the wooden components introduce movement and tactility. Bent and carved with precision, the timber surfaces soften the composition, wrapping over edges and extending outward like a continuous gesture. The visible grain, knots, and natural variations in the wood are preserved, allowing each piece to carry its own identity and sense of age. The wood does not sit on the concrete—it appears to grow from it, forming a seamless relationship between natural and constructed elements.
The collection favors restraint over complexity. Lines are deliberate, proportions are carefully balanced, and every joint is resolved with clarity. Subtle metal details are used sparingly, acting as quiet connectors rather than visual statements. Function is never exaggerated; instead, it is integrated into the sculptural form, allowing each piece to exist comfortably between furniture and object.
These pieces are designed to be experienced slowly. Their weight invites stillness, their surfaces invite touch, and their presence encourages awareness of space and body. Whether used as seating, a table, or a resting surface, the furniture does not dominate its environment—it grounds it.
