RE-LAVA

Project type
Jewellery
My collection includesn e c k l a ces , b a n g l es a n dbrooches. The name ‘Re-Lava’came form ‘Si Saket’ mergingwith a concept of ‘Recycle’.The key material in thiscollection is metal aluminumor met a l. T hen, I add e delements that reflected the identity of Si Saket such asred and black woven ropewhich are the signaturecolors of Soai tribe. One of thee n t r e p r e n e u r s a c t u a l l ybelonged to Suoi tribe andthat is how I got the idea toincorporate their colors intothe collection.
…During the design process, I tested the characteristics of the materials first. The designtrend today is to make use of everyday materials and not necessarily precious stones.
…I initially planned for the production to be carried out by the entrepreneurs, soI made sure that my designs are suitable to their materials and skills. I designed ratherbig pieces of jewelry with little intricate details. I also incorporated textile techniques. Theartisans in weaving and embroidering used their expertise together with metal castingprocess to produce ‘Re-Lava’ collection.Patipat wrapped up his interview about being a part of Esan Dern.
…“I am impressed that GIT opened the door to entrepreneurs who did not haveexperience in the area of precious jewelry. Unlike other projects, they were givenopportunities to learn, develop and create jewelry from materials found in theirneighborhood. One participant has been working with textile all her life. This projectallowed her to transform her textile into pieces of jewelry and do something she has nevertried before.
…I would like to leave a note to Si Saket entrepreneurs to continue with their work. All the ideas and knowledge from this project will help you create new products with evenstronger identity. Keep up the good work!”
