Lighting
This design set explores the quiet dialogue between weight and light, permanence and delicacy. Conceived as both functional lighting and sculptural object, the piece blurs the boundary between furniture, art, and architecture.
At its core, the lamp is composed of contrasting materials—solid stone, natural wood, brushed brass, and soft textile—each chosen for its inherent character rather than ornament. The carved stone base anchors the object with a sense of gravity and permanence, recalling architectural fragments or ancient tools shaped by time. Its imperfect texture celebrates material honesty, allowing traces of process and natural variation to remain visible.
Rising from this grounded foundation, a vertical wooden element introduces warmth and human scale. The wood’s grain becomes a quiet narrative of growth and time, softening the stone’s mass while creating a tactile counterpoint. Brass connections act as subtle transitions between materials, precise yet restrained, reflecting light without excess.
The fabric shade floats gently above, diffusing light in a calm, ambient glow. Its elongated, wing-like form appears almost weightless, creating a visual tension with the heavy base below. Light is not projected outward aggressively, but held and softened—designed to create atmosphere rather than illumination alone.
This piece is not designed to command attention, but to reward it. It invites slower observation, where shadow, texture, and proportion reveal themselves gradually. Luxury here is expressed through balance, craftsmanship, and restraint—where every element exists with intention.
